As spring reaches its quiet fullness and the threshold between seasons begins to shimmer, the Celtic tree calendar turns to Hawthorn — Huathe — the tree of protection, purification, and sacred passage.
Hawthorn stands at the edges — of fields, of forests, of worlds. In Celtic tradition, it is known as a guardian of thresholds, a keeper of unseen boundaries, and a tree deeply woven with the energy of the heart. Where Hawthorn grows, there is both beauty and warning: blossoms that open softly, and thorns that remind us to move with care.
May is not only a time of blooming — it is also a time of discernment.
Hawthorn teaches us that in order to welcome what is new, we must be willing to clear what no longer belongs. To purify. To protect. To stand at the doorway of our own lives and choose, consciously, what we allow to enter.
Hawthorn teaches that rebirth is not only about opening — it is also about guarding what is sacred.
It asks us to tend the thresholds of our lives with intention.
To release with honesty.
To protect with wisdom.
To begin again, but this time, with deeper knowing.
During this live class, we will explore:
Hawthorn Lore, Symbolism & Sacred Thresholds
Step into the deeper story of Hawthorn as a liminal tree — one that exists between worlds. We will explore its role in Celtic tradition as both protector and portal, and how it invites us to honor the sacred boundaries within our own lives.
Purification & Energetic Clearing
Through gentle, intentional practices, we will work with Hawthorn’s energy to release stagnant patterns, clear emotional residue, and create space for renewal. This is a soft but powerful form of spiritual spring cleaning.
Protection & Sacred Space
Hawthorn reminds us that protection is not about closing off — it is about choosing with clarity. We will explore simple rituals to create energetic boundaries and cultivate spaces — both internal and external — that feel safe, rooted, and true.
Flower Blessing Ritual
You’ll be guided through a simple ritual of blessing and renewal. If you feel called, you’re welcome to bring a small bowl of water or a flower to work with — though nothing is required.
Reflective Journaling
In a quiet, held space, you will be guided through a reflective journaling practice rooted in Hawthorn’s wisdom. Working with the prompt: “What am I ready to release, and what am I now ready to protect and welcome in?” we’ll listen for what is ready to fall away — and what is asking to be guarded as something sacred.
Sharing Circle
A grounded and supportive space to reflect on the places in your life calling for clearing, protection, or new beginnings — and to witness one another in that becoming.
