Welcome to the Hidden Room
An Online Women’s Community of Connection, Growth, and Discovery
A Private Community Within Friends of the Forest
The Hidden Room is the private community within Friends of the Forest.
It's where I share things I don't necessarily share anywhere else—original stories, folklore and old traditions, things I'm researching, curious things I've found, pieces to listen to or keep, and ideas I want to explore a little farther.
The room changes with the seasons, and so does what you'll find inside.
We might explore an old folk practice, work with the moon, add something to our grimoires, follow the history of a strange tradition, talk about the books we're reading, or end up somewhere completely unexpected because I've found something too interesting not to share.
Sometimes one of my public stories continues here. Sometimes I record a story in my own voice. And sometimes I simply bring in a question, an object, an old belief, or something I've noticed and open a conversation around it.
We gather, too. Mystic Brews & Literary Views is our monthly book club, The Last Friday brings us together once a month for conversation and whatever I've chosen to bring to the table, and once each season I offer a private online class for members.
You don't have to keep up with everything. The archive is there to wander through whenever you like.
The Hidden Room is simply another room within Friends of the Forest—one where we have a little more time and space to follow our curiosity.
What is Patreon?
Patreon is the online platform that hosts The Hidden Room. It allows me to keep this part of Friends of the Forest private, share things specifically with members, and have conversations that don't disappear into the noise of social media.
When you join, you'll have access to everything I share inside The Hidden Room, along with our monthly gatherings, Mystic Brews & Literary Views book club, seasonal member classes, and the growing archive of stories, folklore, old traditions, recordings, and other things we've explored over the years.
You can read and participate as much or as little as you like. There is nothing to keep up with—the room is simply there whenever you feel like coming in.
Join the Hidden Room
Membership in The Hidden Room is $7.50 a month, with access to everything inside—the current season as it unfolds, our gatherings and book club, private seasonal classes, and the full archive of things that have gathered here over the years.
You can also choose an annual membership for $90.
There is no expectation to keep up or participate in everything. Come into the room when you like, explore what interests you, and leave the rest for another day.
The door is open whenever you'd like to join us.
What You'll Find Inside the Hidden Room
The Hidden Room changes with the seasons, so what you find there changes too. Some things return regularly; others appear because I've been researching something, writing something, or have stumbled across something I want to bring into the room.
Stories, Folklore & Old Traditions: Original stories, forgotten beliefs, old customs, curious bits of folklore, and the histories behind traditions that have survived in one form or another.
The Forgotten Almanac & The Morning Charm: Small, recurring pieces that follow old observances, weather lore, folk practices, charms, superstitions, and the ways people once read and understood the world around them.
Things to Read, Listen To & Keep: Recorded stories in my own voice, seasonal pieces, printable pages, rituals, reflections, grimoire pages, moon work, and other things created especially for The Hidden Room.
Mystic Brews & Literary Views: Our monthly online book club. We meet on the last Monday of each month from 6–7 PM ET for conversation around the month's book, with a companion tea and a few reflections to get us talking. Explore our 2026–2027 books.
The Last Friday — Our Monthly Women’s Gathering: On the last Friday of each month, we come together from our different corners of the world. I’ll bring something to begin with—a story, an object, a piece of folklore, something I’ve found, a seasonal practice, or simply a question worth asking—and we’ll see where it takes us. Some months we may try something together. Some months I may ask you to bring something. And some months we may simply talk.
A Private Seasonal Class: Once each season, I offer an online class created especially for members of The Hidden Room.
And there is everything already tucked into the archive. You don't need to work your way through it. Open a collection, wander around, and see what you find.
