On the threshold of the autumn equinox, we gather with Cerridwen — Celtic goddess of the cauldron, transformation, and rebirth. She is the keeper of the sacred vessel where endings soften into beginnings, where what is no longer needed is dissolved, and where new wisdom stirs quietly in the dark.
This class is an invitation to honor the deep alchemy of Mabon, the season of balance and harvest, when the earth teaches us that compost is not waste, but the fertile ground of what is to come.
Together, we will move gently through story, reflection, and simple practice to reconnect with Cerridwen’s power of transformation — not as something dramatic or forced, but as the natural, steady rhythm of the seasons.
Your Invitation
As the Wheel of the Year turns, the equinox offers us a moment of pause: light and dark, day and night, standing in balance. Cerridwen calls us to enter this liminal space with reverence, to notice what is composting in our own lives, and to trust that from this rich soil, new life will quietly emerge.
You will be invited to:
Explore Cerridwen’s ancient myth and her cauldron as a vessel of dissolution and rebirth
Reflect and journal on what is “in the cauldron” of your own life — what is being released, and what is slowly taking shape
Work with September’s plant allies (such as apple, elderberry, mugwort, and rosemary) as guides and supports for balance, protection, and inner transformation
Listen for the cauldron in nature — the composting forest floor, the flowing river, the harvest table, the steady moon overhead
Join in a gentle ritual of balance and gratitude, honoring both the light and the shadow of this season
Why Cerridwen, Why Now
At Mabon, the second harvest, the earth reminds us that endings and beginnings are inseparable. The leaves fall, yet become soil. The harvest is gathered, yet seeds are set aside. Cerridwen’s cauldron is this very mystery — the place where we let go, where the unseen work of change takes place, and where the promise of renewal is quietly nurtured.
Her presence at the equinox teaches us patience, trust, and the courage to enter our own inner composting — knowing that what feels like dissolution is also the preparation for new wisdom, new growth, and new light.
