“Honor all with whom we share the Earth:
Four-leggeds, two-leggeds, winged ones,
swimmers, crawlers, plant and rock people.
Walk in balance and beauty.”

" Forest Bathing emphasizes a connection with nature, and the experience reminds me of being a young child spending whole days playing outdoors. Even as a nature enthusiast, I am amazed at how different the experience of forest bathing is. It calls on me to really be present to my experiences and to share my reflections."
Kathleen Lowe, a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide in the practice of Shinrin-Yoku, started Friends of the Forest as a way to offer meaningful, direct experiences in nature that inspire individuals to develop a connection with wildlife and the environment around us.
Her training includes special knowledge in guiding people of all ages in mindful outdoor experiences. She is a level one Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide through the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership program. Kathleen is also a state-licensed wildlife rehabilitator and a Connecticut Certified Master Gardener.
She has come to know the healing and support that nature can offer us through her own personal wellness journey.
A Connecticut native who loves spending time wandering and exploring the more-than-human world, Kathleen is honored to be sharing forest bathing experiences with the community.
