Taking Care of Others is a Wonderful Part of Life

As the year draws to a close, it is a time for reflection and gratitude. It is also an opportunity to extend our support to those who need it the most. One such group that deserves our attention is women cancer survivors who are striving to find their new normal after treatment.

The Rebloom Initiative©  is a new Friends of the Forest program we are launching in 2024, offering women who have completed their cancer treatment the opportunity to reclaim their lives, renew their bodies, and experience healing connections with other women through restorative nature-based wellness workshops.

After enduring the grueling journey of cancer treatment, it is not uncommon to experience a sense of emptiness and confusion once it has come to an end. The aftermath of cancer treatment can leave survivors grappling with a range of complex emotions. The physical toll that treatment takes on the body is often accompanied by a profound psychological impact. The fear of recurrence looms large in the minds of many survivors, leading to heightened anxiety and depression. The constant worry about whether the disease will return can be overwhelming and exacerbate feelings of being lost and low.  You're not alone.

For many women, a key dimension of healing is to be in community with women who share your wound and your strong intention to find healing. We hold this space for you—a healing space for women to come together to share, offer support to one another, and find solace in life beyond cancer.

Half-Day Workshops Specifically Designed for Women Who Have Completed Their Treatment Include:

  • Healing Through Words: Writing Through the Seasons

  • Restorative Yoga for Self-Care

  • Yoga4cancer Oncology Yoga

  • Dance & Movement in Nature

  • Forest Bathing Walks

  • Energy Balancing

  • Equine Therapy

  • Kundalini Yoga Meditation Techniques

  • Fireside Gatherings

  • Community Weaving Project in Nature

  • + More in Development!

These workshops will be offered on a sliding scale, ensuring no one is turned away due to lack of funds. This commitment can only be made possible by the generosity of our donors. With your support, together, we can make a difference in the lives of these resilient women.

As the year comes to a close, we are seeking your support to launch this new initiative in 2024. Your year-end donation will contribute to making this program a reality and positively impact the lives of women who have bravely fought cancer.

Wild blessings,

Kathleen
