Exploring the Language of Plants: Plants as our Muse
Mugwort, the Mother of all Herbs

In this enchanting session, we will delve into the folklore, mythology, and symbolism linked to a native plant flourishing in the wild on our farm, mugwort. We will engage deeply with this plant, connecting on a spiritual level to channel the imagery, words, and messages it imparts, serving as a muse for our poetry. Additionally, we will utilize a pioneering plant wave device that attaches to the plant, translating its electrical pulses into a symphony of plant music. This will allow us to listen to the unique language of plants and gain insight into their world.

Mugwort has a particular affinity for dream work, enhancing psychic abilities, and magic. Discover more about these and her other healing abilities. As a clinical herbalist, Nora will also share some of the spiritual characteristics, healing properties, and folklore associated with Mugwort. What story or special wisdom will you receive from Mugwort?

Plants have been an integral part of human culture since ancient times, serving as sources of food, medicine, shelter, and spiritual guidance. Many cultures around the world have developed a deep understanding and respect for plants, seeing them not just as living organisms but also as beings with their own unique wisdom. This knowledge has been passed down through generations in the form of folklore and legends, creating a rich tapestry of stories surrounding different plants. What messages do the plants convey to you? What wisdom could they share?

Our poet, Nora Toomey, will lead participants through a variety of imaginative writing prompts, assisting us in crafting our poems. Inspiration can find its way in a myriad of ways, so this is a chance for you to get your creative juices flowing. Poetry prompts can be of great help when you are trying to find your poetic voice, or trying to step outside your comfort zone.

Together, we'll delve into writing, fostering an appreciation for our deep connection with the plant world. We will conclude the afternoon in a safe sharing circle, offering everyone a chance to share their evolving poetic creations.

This workshop promises to be an engaging, inclusive, and creative journey for anyone eager to deepen their connection with nature and enrich their writing practice.
