Summer Solstice Forest Bathing Walk

  • Canfield Meadow Woods Nature Preserve Book Hill Woods Road Essex, CT, 06426 United States (map)

The Summer Solstice is a time to engage our Earth connection, and cultivate and deepen our connection to the divine energies all around us. In living with gratitude and understanding that reciprocity and respect for all that is given to us is, is the way to live as if all life is ceremony. Join us on this special meditative walk in the forest as the longest day of the year emerges. We’ll begin our walk with a brief introduction to mindful awareness in nature and then share a silent, guided walk, stopping occasionally to share our experiences. We will conclude our time together by creating a Sun Wheel made from flowers and special objects found on our walk and enjoy hot, locally foraged tea and nibbles, as we share our thoughts about the meaning of this special day.

  • Advance registration is required to attend.

  • Our suggested ticket price is $40. However, if paying $40 would prohibit you from attending this walk, please pay what you can. We believe a connection to the land fosters the mental, physical, and spiritual wellness of individuals, communities, and the planet. We want to provide a quality experience that facilitates this connection, but we also believe all members of our community should have access to this event. If you are able to pay more than the suggested ticket price, the difference will go towards covering the cost of those in our community who can’t.

  • Once purchased, you will receive more information on how to prepare for the event.

  • No pets or children under 16 for this experience.

  • Everyone is welcome. Come as you are.

  • No experience necessary; just an open heart and willingness to connect.

LOCATION TBD*
Register Here

*Please note that not all walks have a confirmed location. I want each experience to be unique and meaningful; therefore, I am carefully seeking places that best suit what I have planned for each walk. As sites are confirmed, I will update our event page on the website. Once registered, you will receive more information about the walk, including location, detailed information of where to meet, and any items you may need.

Additional information:

  • Walks involve creative invitations in the woods that allow you to explore nature with all five of your senses. We will practice mindfulness exercises that will help you connect with nature on a new level.

  • Walks are slow-paced and cover less than 1 mile.

  • Cell phones should be off (ideally left in the car) and in a hard-to-reach pocket to minimize both physical and mental intrusions while on the walk.

  • Please dress for the weather, including a jacket, layers, umbrella, and proper shoes.

  • Walks will continue even in drizzling rain, as they can enhance our sensory experience. An alternate date will be coordinated if there is severe inclement weather (e.g., high winds, snowstorms, thunderstorms).

  • Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of the start of the walk. Bathrooms will not be available during the walk.

  • Please contact us if you have any limitations that the guide should be aware of so that the walk can be modified if necessary.

Summer is a time to engage our Earth connection; and cultivate and deepen our connection to the divine energies all around us.
