There is something so sweet and gentle about springtime. Things seem to move slowly, and there is a softness in the air. This month, Emily Phillips-Geeza, yoga instructor and herbalist, is joining us for an afternoon gathering to celebrate the energy of spring as the Wheel of the Year turns and we enter the season of Beltane.
Beltane is a time of celebration, passion, creativity, and sacred union. It is one of the eight Sabbats that falls halfway between the spring equinox and the coming summer solstice. This day marks the coming summer and is associated with fertility. It represents the peak of spring and the beginning of summer when Earth’s energies are considered the strongest.
Integrating ancient celebrations from various ancestral traditions for this time of year, we’ll combine gentle movement meditation, walking, and journaling in nature to connect with our inner nature. While we gather around our shared pot-luck meal, Emily will also share seasonal tea, living, and eating practices from Ayurveda and herbalism to support wellness and balance during the coming warmer months.
