This is one of my favorite times of year—I savor the lengthening nights and nature’s inward pulling as the leaves fall and the days grow shorter. The natural cycles call us toward self-reflection at this turning of the wheel. This is the time of year when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead, between the visible and the invisible, between the humans and the fairies and spirits, is thin. At this time, we can reflect on the past, the present, and the future, on those who had come before us, and on those who will come after. It is a celebration of giving gratitude and appreciation to the ancestors. Samhain occurs at the time of the last harvests before winter, and it prompts us to express gratitude to the more than human world.
Celebrate the energy of Samhain as you are guided through a series of mindful invitations on a meditative candlelight nature walk as we observe and contemplate the seasons' colors, aromas, sounds, and other sensations.
At the conclusion of our walk, we will gather fireside for deep listening and sharing of our experiences. You are invited to this safe space to let go of anything from the past and make space for what you want to create in your life. We will cast those things we wish to let go of into the Samhain flames as you imagine release. This walk culminates with a fireside gathering, hot seasonal tea, and fairy spice cakes. Blankets will be provided.
This event is being held at a beautiful private residence in East Haddam comprised of over 30 acres of woodlands and meadows. After registration, the location and directions will be emailed to all attendees.
