Sacred Connections: Connecting With the Element of Water (SOLD OUT)

  • Hammonasset Beach State Park|East Beach 1288 Boston Post Road Madison, CT, 06443 United States (map)

The elements are our oldest ancestors and serve as powerful guides on how to live in synergy with Mother Nature. Everything in the natural world is comprised of the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and ether—including our bodies and minds are formed from the elements.

Every breath of air relaxes us. Fire gives us strength and energy. We learn to flow like water. The earth reminds us to nourish ourselves. Ether is the very thing that makes all movement and life possible and is a reminder to bring stillness into our lives. When we align with the elements, we become more present and tap into the wisdom of life itself.

Sacred Connections is a five-part series devoted to exploring the power of the five elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Ether—and we look at how reconnecting with these ancestors can help us reconnect to our true, inner nature.

What you can expect

  • We will gather together in Circle for an opening meditation on the element of water with gentle movement and stretching to open ourselves and connect with the energy of water.

    • Contemplation Suggestion: On this day, we gather under the waning crescent moon, whose spiritual meaning is one of release. This is a time to let go of anything that is no longer serving you. This phase of the moon’s cycle is a reminder that only by letting go of limiting perspectives, thoughts, and stories will you be able to create the space for what your spirit is here to do.

  • We will take a mindful guided walk along the water’s edge to connect to the fluidity of water, bringing calmness and flow to our existence, paying attention to the physical cool elements of water in our body and the presence of our emotions through a series of thoughtful invitations to open your senses to the sights, tastes, and sounds of water.

  • An Offering Ceremony. You can choose to bring a stone or object from nature that you have imbued with love, or you may find a beautiful gift on our walk.

  • We will hold space for deep contemplation and personal reflection. (for those with a journaling practice, we will use water as a writing prompt)

  • We will close our time together in Circle, sharing an herbal tea and creating a sacred healing ritual using ocean water. Each person will take their sacred jar of infused water home.

  • $45 investment

Reconnecting with water

Water is about the past, the unclear and elusive. Anything hidden beneath the surface of the water can float to the surface, creating clarity and allowing you to connect with an unknown piece of yourself, whether it is unprocessed emotions or an undiscovered talent. Water absorbs without filter and without judgment and brings you back to the source where your potential lies.

The Element of Water

Water purifies, heals, and transforms. We are naturally drawn to its life-supporting power; its energy soothes our souls like rain, mist, ocean waves, or river songs. The element of water helps to tune into your emotions, intuition, and inner strength.

In nature, water flows to low places, gathers power, and nurtures life. Water does not flow backward. It does not hold on. It seeks the low areas, which are the openings of possibility. To do that, we must let go of our illusions, clinging to the past, being caught up in what we want or don’t want, and take a small step with love and clarity. That is how we enter the flow. Water shows us how to realize our soul power and become a nurturing presence. Water offers space for reflection and healing; it connects us with our deepest feelings and emotions. Its central message is this: know who you are, be fully present, and learn to let go.

How do I know when the water element is out of balance?

  • Do you feel over-emotional? Incredibly sensitive? Like emotions are crushing you like the big ocean waves?

  • Do your moods change? One moment you are happy; the next moment, you are sad. Was it a message from a loved one, the news, or just a song that changed your mood?

  • Are you lost in dreams, desires, and visions but lack the spark to put them into action?
