Liability Waiver & Participation Agreement

Before You Sign

We want you to feel informed, comfortable, and supported.

Our programs take place outdoors and may include walking on natural terrain, exposure to weather, and gentle movement or mindfulness practices. You are always encouraged to listen to your body and adjust or opt out of any activity.

Since mindfulness invites awareness of your moment-to-moment experience, you may notice thoughts, sensations, or emotions arise. You are always welcome to modify or skip any practice—you know your brain-body best.

By signing below, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of these experiences and agree to the terms outlined here.

Participation & Assumption of Risk

This Liability Waiver applies to all Friends of the Forest programs. Participation requires acknowledgment and acceptance of these terms.

By attending, you acknowledge that outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • uneven terrain, slips, and falls

  • weather exposure (heat, cold, sun, dehydration)

  • wildlife, insects, and plant life

  • physical exertion and personal health factors

  • remote locations where medical care may be limited

Some risks cannot be eliminated without changing the nature of the experience. You agree to follow all guidance, posted rules, and facilitator instructions at all times.

Waiver & Release of Liability

By participating, you:

  • assume full responsibility for any injury or damage

  • release and hold harmless Friends of the Forest and all associated individuals/entities from any claims or liabilities

  • confirm that you are physically and mentally able to participate and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional

If you have any conditions that may impact your participation, you acknowledge that you are choosing to participate at your own risk.
