The Sacred Grove:
A Monthly Gathering for Women to Connect, Reflect, and Grow

The Sacred Grove is not a typical circle or discussion group. Each month, we gather virtually to explore a theme inspired by the Wheel of the Year, lived in real life, wherever we are. This is a space to reflect, notice, and create in ways that feel meaningful to each woman—a space to honor ourselves, the seasons, and one another.

At the heart of these gatherings is a personal quest: a quiet invitation to explore the theme in your own rhythm. It’s not a task or to-do list, but a way to reflect and engage. A quest might unfold through journaling, poetry, a walk, a conversation, a ritual, or simply noticing what arises.

We gather to share—only if we wish—how these quests unfolded. This is not about performance but about weaving together insight, presence, and community. The real magic happens as we live the Wheel of the Year in our own lives, in our own way.

Following the Wheel of the Year can look very different depending on where you live, and this circle honors that diversity. It’s about women coming together, sharing how they interpret and live the rhythms of the seasons and nature where they are.

The Monthly Quest: A Magical Invitation

Each month, I will send every woman in the circle a personal quest—a gentle, magical invitation to explore the month’s theme in a way that is meaningful to you. This is not a task or to-do list, but an offering: a thread to follow, a question to ponder, or an experience to engage with. You may choose to accept it fully, partially, or simply notice what arises—it is yours to interpret in your own rhythm.

For example: In February (Midwinter | Imbolc), the theme is Ember Beneath the Snow. Your quest might invite you to notice the “inner spark” that is quietly stirring within you. You might journal about what is emerging in your life, take a walk in nature noticing signs of new growth, light a candle as a small ritual of tending your own flame, or create a poem or drawing inspired by what is quietly coming to life.

A quest can unfold in countless ways:

  • Reflection: Journaling or noticing patterns in your life or in nature.

  • Movement: Walking, yoga, or other practices that embody the theme.

  • Creativity: Poetry, art, photography, or crafting.

  • Connection: Conversations or sharing stories with another woman.

  • Ritual: Lighting a candle, creating an altar, or performing a small ceremony that honors the season.

When we gather in the circle, we share—if and when we wish—how our quests unfolded. This is not a performance, but a way of weaving together insight, presence, and the collective wisdom of the group. Each quest is both a personal journey and a thread that connects us, reminding us that we are living the Wheel of the Year together, wherever we are.

How We Gather

  • Before the Circle: Engage with the theme in your life and notice what arises.

  • During the Circle: Share reflections, insights, or simply hold presence with the group. Speaking is optional; listening is equally valued.

  • Beyond the Circle: Carry your reflections into the month ahead, living the Wheel in your own rhythm.

These gatherings offer the freedom to explore each theme in your own way. Whether you are quiet or outgoing, near or far, this is a space where women can gather as they are—seen, supported, and honored.

“As the Wheel of the Year turns, so too does the power within us. We rise, we rest, we bloom, we transform—honoring the eternal cycles of nature and the wisdom they bring."

— Kathleen Lowe, Founder, Friends of the Forest

A Virtual Circle That Connects Across Borders

The Sacred Grove is a virtual gathering, bringing women together from all over the country—and the world. We have been inspired by the many women who have come together in our virtual classes, and this circle is a natural way to continue building that community.

Being virtual allows us to honor the diversity of experiences and environments in which we live. Following the Wheel of the Year looks different depending on where you are—whether the first snow has fallen in Maine, wildflowers are blooming in California, or the desert heat is stirring new life in Arizona. This circle is about women connecting across distances, sharing reflections and insights, and discovering the ways the rhythms of nature and the seasons show up in their lives.

The circle is held each month by our founder, Kathleen Lowe, who offers gentle guidance and presence. This is a space where women co-create the circle together—bringing readings, reflections, or closing blessings when it feels right. Each woman’s voice, insight, and presence contribute to the energy of the gathering, making it alive, vibrant, and uniquely shaped by the women who come together.
